The budget car maker, Maruti Suzuki India has launched its automatic variant of new Baleno four wheeler. The new car is automatic (CVT) option in the top-end Alpha trim of its premium hatchback Baleno and the company has touted it as Maruti Suzuki Baleno Alpha CVT and priced it at Rs. 8.34 Lakh (ex-showroom).

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno Delta and Zeta variants and also available with the continuously variable transmission (CVT). While, in March this year, it has launched the Baleno RS, a sporty version of the Baleno, marking its entry in the high-performance segment.

However, with the launch of the new Alpha variant the company believes that the customers who are looking for hi-end features, can go for the automatic Baleno as it includes options like the smartphone linkage display audio that works with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink.

Maruti has also revealed that they have managed to sell over two lakh units of the hatchback Baleno since its launch in October 2015. Also, theĀ firm has crossed the record of selling 1 lakh units of a newly launched vehicle within a year.

Statistics revealĀ that the auto mobile maker ships Baleno to over 100 countries and is the first car from Maruti Suzuki India to be shipped to Japan. More than 68,000 units of Baleno has already been exported around the globe including Australia, Australia, New Zealand and several parts of Europe and Latin America.

The company has been trying to introduce models with several kinds of automatic technologies in the local market. Currently, the two pedal technology has been raised from 6% in 2014-15 to 11% in 2016-17.

MSI has set goals to raise the two-pedal contribution by 100%, which means the company wants to increase the current levels of around 1.5 lakh units to 3 lakh units by 2020.

Currently, there are also other models available at MSI with auto gear shift technology such as Celerio, Wagon R, Alto K-10, Ignis and Dzire two variants of Baleno with CVT and Ciaz and Ertiga with automatic (AT) transmissions.
