The Ducati fans planning to purchase a new superbike will have to wait for a little bit more as the manufacturer has announced that its Ducati Supersport will be launched on September 22 in India. Bookings for the same had started earlier this month across the country.

The Supersport, a road focused and comfortable bike from the Italian sports bike maker Ducati is expected to be priced between Rs. 12-14 lakhs (ex-showroom). The motorcycle will be available in two variants – Supersport S and the stock variant with the stock version which is expected to be priced at Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom), meanwhile the Supersport S can be owned at a price of Rs 14 lakh(ex-showroom).

Judged as the most beautiful motorcycle of the 2016 EICMA or the Milan Motorcycle Show, the Supersport has been called a road focused motorcycle by Ducati.

The styling of the new motorcycle seeks inspiration from the Ducati 959 Panigale. The Ducati Supersport gets raised slip-on handle bars and an adjustable windscreen, which adds to the road focusing intentions of the bike making it more at ease on highways and mountains than on race tracks.

A 937cc, L-Twin Testastretta engine resides in the Supersport. The liquid-cooled motor delivers 110PS at 9,500rpm, while 93Nm of peak torque is made available at 6,500rpm.

The Ducati Supersport will step in the Indian market as a rival of Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and Suzuki GSX-R1000F.
