“Congratulations to Virat and Anushka for getting married. Took me by surprise. But I always knew who had a surprise up your sleeve. So, congrats to my good friend Virat, and Anushka. I know you guys are going to have a very happy life together and hopefully many kids to come,” he said in the video.
Kohli and Anushka were seen leaving for Italy at Delhi and Mumbai airports respectively after the end of third and final Test between India and Sri Lanka in Delhi on December 8.
While the wedding was a close-knit affair, the couple will be holding a grand reception in Delhi on December 21 and in Mumbai on December 26. The invitations have been sent out and it itself is something very unique with a sapling in it. After both receptions are over, Anushka will accompany Virat to South Africa where both will bring the new year together. Later, the Bollywood actress will return to India to complete the shooting of an unnamed film, while Kohli will start practice sessions with his teammates to take on the Proteas.
The Indian skipper, who has been rested from the ODIs and T20Is against Sri Lanka, will join the team for the upcoming tour of South Africa, starting January 5 next year.
