Mallika Sherawat being kicked out of Paris apartment

On Thursday evening, news broke that Mallika Sherawat was being kicked out of her plush Paris apartment for not paying rent. A BBC report said that Mallika and her French boyfriend Cyrille Auxenfans are yet to pay 80,000 euros in rent for the apartment that the two live in, in the French capital.

Now, Mallika has claimed that she does not even have an apartment in Paris, let alone being kicked out of one.

The actress, best known for her 2004 film Murder, took to Twitter to clear her side of the story, “Some in the media think I hv an apartment in Paris !! It’s absolutely Not True , if someone has donated one to me, pls send me the address 🙂 (sic)”

It was courtesy the news of her being attacked by three masked assailants last year, that we found out that Mallika Sherawat had moved bag and baggage to Paris.

Report in BBC mentioned that the actress and her French beau, Cyrille Auxenfans, faced eviction from their Paris apartment for non-payment of rent.

According the report, Mallika and her boyfriend are yet to shell out the nearly 80,000 euros (around Rs 64 lakh) that is due.

The couple’s lawyer was quoted as saying that the couple did not pay rent to “show their annoyance” after they were tear-gassed and beaten up by three masked men in their Paris apartment block in November 2016. He also said that Mallika and Cyrille were facing “temporary financial difficulties”. However, their landlord’s lawyer, Olivier Mayrand told Francetvinfo that the couple could easily afford to pay the rent.

The apartment in discussion is a 350sq-m one that sits in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, which is the one of the most favoured places of residence for the city’s most affluent.
