An unidentified woman’s body found chopped into several pieces and dumped near Kondapur Botanical gardens at Gachibowli in the High-Tech city limits in Hyderabad. Hours after the body of a woman was found, the police have confirmed that she was 8 months pregnant.
According to reports, the body was stuffed into a bag and left on the main road busy with vehicular traffic in the working hours. People moving along the road noticed the bag and alerted the police immediately.
Madhapur police swung into action with clues team and sniffer dogs to trace the accused in the murder case. Police suspected the role of robbers in the murders. The police said that the woman was killed at an unknown place two to three days ago, and her decomposed body was dumped on the road later.
When the police opened the bags, they found decomposed body parts of a woman aged between 25 and 30, an official said. While one bag contained the severed head and hands, another was stuffed with torso, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Madhapur Division) N Shyam Prasad Rao told PTI.
“The lady is about 5 feet 4 inches tall, medium built, about 30 years old, round-faced and has a fair complexion. She was eight months pregnant. She wore a maroon colour kurta, red colour pyjama, silver toe rings, maroon colour bangles and a copper finger ring,” the police said in a press release.
An investigation was launched in all angles. The police urged to gynecologists in the city to recall if any pregnant woman matching the above description had visited them and share the information with them. The police are also looking at CCTV footage to ascertain if any vehicle passed the area at night, and may have dumped the bag at the spot.
